What is Uneasy Lies the Head That Wears a Crown about?
Behind the closed doors of the Lodge room lies a rich tapestry of philosophy, history, and administrative responsibility — yet much of the instruction needed to navigate it is left unsaid. Uneasy Lies the Head That Wears a Crown: What We Forgot to Tell You About Freemasonry brings together over a decade of Masonic research papers, lodge addresses, and historical studies into a single, comprehensive volume designed for the modern seeker and leader.
Drawing from works presented before Lodges of Research, Scottish Rite bodies, and regional Masonic forums, this collection examines both the symbolic depth and practical realities of the Craft. Rather than offering abstract theory alone, the book bridges high-level ritual scholarship with the everyday demands of Lodge governance and education.
Inside this collection, you will explore:
- Ritual & High Degree Symbolism: Deep dives into Scottish Rite degree philosophy, Cryptic and Royal Arch traditions, and comparative studies of European rites.
- Lodge Leadership & Governance: Candid reflections on the progressive line, officer responsibilities, effective lodge communication, and the practical burdens of leadership.
- Masonic History & Scholarship: Studies on historical lodge charters, Masonic jurisprudence, and actionable advice on conducting original Masonic research and paper writing.
Whether you are a newly raised Master Mason seeking a clearer understanding of the Craft's broader heritage, an officer preparing to sit in the East, or a seasoned scholar building a Masonic library, Uneasy Lies the Head That Wears a Crown serves as a clear, essential guide for learning, leading, and spreading light.
